What did you do before real estate and how did you get
started in the business?
Before becoming a Realtor, I worked in marketing and finance,
and I loved doing both. I was a brand marketer for Welchs and Kraft
Foods, and one of my favorite parts of the job was creating
detailed marketing plans to best promote and sell the product.
Prior to that, I was a commercial lender for Bank of Boston, and to
this day, I still love delving into spreadsheets and performing
analyses. One of the things that I enjoy about being a Realtor is
that, in order to do the best job for my clients, I rely on both my
marketing and finance skills daily.
I got started in real estate by staging homes, which was a
natural transition from my brand marketing jobs. I really enjoyed
helping to create additional value for homeowners by staging their
home. I soon realized that I wanted to bring together all of these
experiences and my real estate passion, so I secured my real estate
license so that I could work with clients from start to finish.
Ultimately, its my clients’ happiness that brings me the most joy
in this business. It really is a relationship business.
What is one thing your clients find comfort in that make
them turn to you for their real estate needs?
My clients find comfort in knowing that I will work tirelessly
to get them the best outcome with the least amount of stress. I
listen carefully to their goals and needs, and they know and trust
that I have their best interests in mind.
Do you keep your clients updated on market
conditions?
I think communication is key to being an excellent Realtor.
Buying or selling a home is a critical investment, so I work hard
to keep my clients updated on all aspects that affect the
transaction. I do this through a combination of in-person, voice
and electronic communications, and Iadjustit tohow each individual
client prefers to communicate.
Do you go all out with marketing?
For each propertythat I represent, I create a custom marketing
plan, tailored for the needs of the homeowner and property. I look
forward to learningabout what the homeowners have loved about their
home and then carefully crafting the messaging that best highlights
these aspects. Todays buyers love video, so I create custom
property videos for each home, and I utilize both traditional
advertising and social media campaigns to maximize exposure.
Additionally, I capitalize on the incredible Sothebys International
Realty network to get key market exposure both domestically and
globally for the listings I represent.
What are some of your favorite local activities or
organizations that you participate in?
One of my favorite local organizations to support is the
Foundation for Belmont
Education. Belmont is known for its great school system and as
such, attracts tremendous and caring teachers. These teachers are
dedicated to teaching with the most up-to-date methods, and the
Foundation for Belmont Education helps support the teachers with
leading edge tools and training. Our kids are the future of this
country and I believe in supporting their growth and learning.
Describe your perfect day off.
My perfect day off usually involves family, food and fun. We are
a family that likes to explore, so finding a great place to hike or
go fishing tends to top our list of adventures. Inevitably along
the way, we find ourselves talking about where and what we will eat
that night for dinner and look forward to a great meal, typically
involving some kind of seafood. And we usually top the day off with
a board game or movie. I never tire of that combination.
What are three sources of joy in your week?
My biggest source of joy every week, and every day, is my
family. I am so grateful for my husband and three boys. And my
biggest joy has been watching our kids grow from boys to men. Ive
said this over and over, but I love each stage of their growth more
than the last. My friends are another large source of joy in my
life, and I have a great group of women who I get together with
weekly, and weve been doing this for nearly two decades. Its a
great way to stay grounded and supported. And my third weekly joy
has to be my dog Tucker always happy and delighted to see me, even
if Ive only been gone for 15 minutes.
