As August draws to a close, parents grapple with the annual
challenge of the back to school season. Summer is a time for
families to ease back on schedules and be a bit freer with their
time. Children stay up later at night, sleep in, run around in
flip-flops and bathing suits and enjoy time with their friends.
Stress begins to mount as fun summer days fade away and new class
schedules, homework, practices, and games start to fill your
calendar. While the abrupt change in routine can be challenging, to
appreciate the beauty of the final summer days and the excitement
of the back to school season. There are friendships to cultivate,
adventures to experience, and new opportunities to explore.
“The back to school season in Cohasset brings excitement and
nostalgia,” saidJenniferLord,
a agent former Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher turned Gibson
Sothebys International Realty agent based in the Cohasset office.
“Seeing the children in the community excitedly walk, pedal and
scooter to school Tuesday morning, ready for the start of a new
academic year, is a reminder of why education is so fundamentally
important. It was clearly evident that my daughters were both happy
to be back with their friends and also focused on their learning
goals for the school year. Jennifer is a mother of three young
girls between eight and fifteen.
This season always brings a mix of feelings as we trade in the
lazy days of summer for a school year schedule wound tight,” added
Kate Rogan, a Scituate resident who serves as the Office Marketing
Coordinator for Gibson Sothebys International Realtys offices in
Hingham and Cohasset. The beautiful foliage in the Fall blended
with the unspoiledcoastline helps my children and me stay relaxed
all year long. A professional photographer and owner of

The South Shore offers ample opportunities for family fun in the
colder months, from bowling alleys to movie theaters to
Fall-themed festivals and outdoor events.
The area offers a range of family-friendly activities through
the Fall season. I take my children to enjoy a picnic by the pond,
savor a scenic nature walk or shop for back-to-school wear in the
locally owned specialty shops. Once the back-to-school jitters have
subsided, the beauty of nature surrounds usand the family fun is
plentiful, whether we want to experience local culture or frolic on
a farm.
The energy emanating from teachers, students, and families make
those first few days and weeks of school a memorable experience for
all.Whether your child has already had their first day ofschool or
is still anticipating the big day, Gibson Sothebys International
Realty wishes you a happy and healthy start to the academic
year!
