BOSTON, MA (September 12, 2018) Gibson Sothebys
International Realty has announced strategic expansion to Cape Cod
through its combination of forces with oldCape Sothebys
International Realty, which has offices in Orleans, Brewster,
Harwich Port, Dennis, Chatham, and North Chatham. The union extends
Gibson Sothebys International Realtys reach south into Barnstable
County and adds six new offices to the Boston-headquartered
brokerage. The company will now work within a network of over 300
agents across a total of 17 offices throughout Eastern
Massachusetts.
We are thrilled to add this group to our organization as part of
our long-term strategy of integrating the Cape Cod-area markets
with Greater Boston, added Paul McGann, president and co-owner of
Gibson Sothebys International Realty. Joining forces with oldCape
Sothebys International Realty allows us to satisfy a substantial
market need for additional locations to effectively serve our
client base. Our vision is to enable our agents to provide improved
progression of service as our clients move from Greater Boston to
Cape Cod and beyond.
Our companies have both built people-first company cultures,
commented Larry Rideout, chairman and co-owner of Gibson Sothebys
International Realty. oldCape cares deeply for their agents and
treats them as family, which is exactly how we have always been.
This focus on professionalism, integrity and agent-focused
marketing and support reflects our shared business and personal
values. We are proud to welcome the team to Gibson Sotheby’s
International Realty and have the utmost confidence in the
continued vitality of Cape Cod real estate.
Howard Hayes, who formerly served as Director of the Cape Cod
and Islands Association of REALTORS, co-owned and managed leading
full service agency Bay Village Realty for over twenty years.
oldCape Real Estate, the predecessor to oldCape Sotheby’s
International Realty, was later founded in 2002 by Hayes and Joanne
Liberles, both seasoned Cape Cod and Boston area REALTORS. Under
Hayes leadership, the company was established as oldCape Sothebys
International Realty in 2007.
I was immediately inspired by Gibson Sothebys International
Realtys positive and interactive philosophy that very much emulates
our own, asserted Hayes. In the context of a successful real estate
brand, a positive culture depends more on the dynamics of the
agents than on external market conditions. We are thrilled to join
an unparalleled team, to embrace the attitudeof agent-driven
success, and to experience the satisfaction of achievement as a
result of agent mentorship and support.
Kenneth Hager, former general manager of oldCape Sothebys
International Realty, whose real estate expertise spans over a
decade, will manage the six Cape Cod-based offices of Gibson
Sotheby’s International Realty.
Joining forces with Gibson Sothebys International Realty allows
us to elevate the services and tools we offer our agents and
clients, commented Hager. By uniting these companies and connecting
two highly relevant markets, we strengthen our market share and our
presence of across Massachusetts.
The Sotheby’s International Realty brand is very supportive of
the union of these two fine companies, said Philip White, President
and Chief Executive Officer of Sotheby’s International Realty
Affiliates LLC. oldCape Sotheby’s International Realty has grown
steadily since affiliating with the brand; joining Gibson Sotheby’s
International Realty is a strategically important decision which
provides the best support to clients and real estate
professionals.
Since 1962, Gibson Sothebys International Realtys unique
approach of combining local leadership with a global brand has been
highly effective throughout Boston, Cambridge and Greater Boston.
Under Co-Owners Larry Rideout and Paul McGanns leadership for over
a decade, the firm has grown exponentially and has cultivated a
people-centric and technology- driven culture. The company
transcended $1 billion in sales volume between January 1 and July
31 of this year. Today, Gibson Sothebys International Realty is the
largest independently-owned real estate company in Boston.
