Most of us love snow and the winter season. It is a great time
to get cozy by a fire, go skiing or enjoy the beauty of the
outdoors. However, this year, especially compared to last year’s
“snowpocolypse”, this has been a fairly warm season. But who is
really complaining? Not many of those in the market for luxury real
estate on Cape Cod.
While sales in Cape Cod for 2011 were slightly down compared to
the previous year higher price points (luxury real estate, land,
etc) performed well. 15 listings over $1 million have seen their
status go under agreement already this year on Cape Cod.
The mild winter has accelerated the interest in Cape Cod homes
and especially luxury homes with waterfront access. As the economy
turns in the right direction the hope for buyers is that their
recently purchased Cape Cod properties will go up even more in
value.
It is quite interesting that weather can have such an impact on
the total volume of real estate sales and for which type of homes
these inevitably are. There are many unique estates to be had in
Cape Cod and just the notion of weather gives one reason to believe
that other coastal areas around Boston may also have been producing
real estate transactions in a similar fashion. The weather has been
warm, and all indications point to the high-end market continuing
to be hot.
