The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is now open again to the
public! After going through roughly $114 million for expansion
purposes recently, the Museum was open for business once again as
of 11AM on Thursday, January 19th, 2012. The ever-popular and
strikingly beautiful 109 year-old palace has a restored Tapestry
Room and a new sense of excitement and anticipation buzzing around
the community. These sentiments were mimicked by the Mayor of
Boston, Mr. Thomas Menino, who was in attendance for the ceremonial
red ribbon cutting in front of a large crowd full of Gardner
enthusiasts, visitors, artists, cultural leaders and the like.
The new expanded space is apparently quite breathtaking and one
that all of us should mark in our calenders as a place that must be
visited soon. The admission charges are $15 for adults, $12 for
seniors and $5 for College Students who present their Schools ID
Card.
There are also unique opportunities to become a member at the
Museum. The extremely well organized website explains the
variations and what one is able to benefit from under the different
membership categories. Luckily enough, if a female is named
Isabella, then they are able to sign themselves up on the Museums
website to be able to have FREE access to the Museum for life! Now
what a luxury that is, thanks Mom and Dad.
The Museum is located at:
