The Town of Arlington, Massachusetts made Massachusetts Avenue
pedestrian-only from Pleasant Street to Jason Street
for Arlington Town Day, an annual tradition since 1976. Our
company once again sponsored the day and the team out of our local
office hosted a booth with complimentary pony rides. The day also
consisted of a fireworks display over Spy Pond at 7:30
pm, live music, and more than 200 arts and crafts booths,
raffles, games, and more.
Mike Pallotta has helped with Town Day before and was thrilled
to once again take part. “Town Day is always a special event
in Arlington and it’s a great chance to see clients, business
owners, friends and meet new people,” said
Mike, “I always enjoy being there and helping out since
it’s a chance to meet new people and have
conversations.”
Dale Hurd, another veteran volunteer for Arlington Town Day,
loves to participate as he sees a lot of friends and past clients
who come to the Sotheby’s booth to say hi. “It’s a
great way to interact with the community and answer any questions
that they might have about the current market,” said Dale,
“My favorite part is being able to talk to people and listen
to their stories. It’s great when they are so happy to be
settled in such a great town.”
Adam Shoulkin on the other hand, experienced Town Day for the
first time. “I have worked in Arlington for a few years
but had not gone to any community events and wanted to experience
the town culture outside of work,” said local agent Adam,
“It was lovely seeing how big a turnout they got despite the
weather.” “My favorite part of the day was joking around
with the people who ran the pony rides who all had wonderful senses
of humor. I can’t wait for next year.”
The day was rather rainy, but the town made the most of it.
“People bundled up and brought umbrellas and still got out to
enjoy the day,” said Mike.
