Larry Rideout of Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty Wins Andrew F. Hickey Distinguished Service Award

has received the Andrew F.
Hickey Distinguished Service Award
from the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS®, the
largest local REALTOR® association in New England.

Established in 2006, this award honors one
REALTOR® for their lengthy service to the Greater Boston
Association of REALTORS® and the Greater Boston Real Estate
Board (GBREB). Recipients of this award must have held membership
in GBREB for a minimum of 15 years, be recognized as a prominent
leader within the REALTOR® association, real estate industry,
and their local community, and be frequently called upon to serve
on special committees and task forces to resolve critical matters
confronting REALTORS® and the housing industry. Rideout was
presented with the award at the association’s Annual Awards
and Networking Breakfast at Venezia Restaurant in Boston.

industry. They continue to inspire me to be my best for our
firm’s associates, for all real estate professionals in Greater

Rideout began his career as a real estate agent in
1984 before being appointed Regional Director of New England at
Century21. In 1999, Rideout joined Cendant Corporation (now
Realogy), the parent company of Century21, ERA, Coldwell Banker and
Sotheby’s International Realty®, serving as Regional Vice
President and Senior Vice President of Franchise Business
Development. In 2006, Rideout purchased Gibson Domain and
affiliated the firm with the Sotheby’s International
Realty® brand. He is a Director of the Greater Boston
Association of REALTORS®, Director Emeritus for the Woburn
Public Library Foundation, Commissioner of the Woburn Housing
Authority, and member of the Woburn Chamber of Commerce and Woburn
Host Lions International Club.

Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty reported it achieved
$2.4 billion in sales volume in the first half of 2024. It holds an
average sale price of over $1.25 million, the highest of the top
twenty real estate firms statewide.
