Agent Spotlight: The Bohman Hartung Group

In January 2023,
Jack Bohman
,
Sally Bohman
, and
Joe Hartung
joined forces to become the
Bohman Hartung Group
. After a year
and a half, the group has already accomplished much and
celebrated many wins. Read to learn about their successes and how
they got here.

Congratulations on over one year as The Bohman Hartung
Group! What have been your biggest takeaways and lessons
learned?

Jack Bohman: Finishing the year as the number one team in total
dollar volume for all of Cape Cod for 2023 exceeded our
expectations. It became evident as the year progressed how much
better we could serve our clients as three people working as a team
rather than as individuals. The beauty is that we know the best is
yet to come!
One of our most important strengths is that we all grew up on Cape
Cod. Each of us has traveled far and wide, but we all decided to
raise our families locally. Sally and I are year-round Chatham
residents while Joe and his wife Bonnie are year-round Orleans
residents. We know these Lower Cape towns like the back of our
hands, but our expertise isn’t limited to just one or two
towns. Rather, we have clients from Osterville to Wellfleet and I
think they appreciate the depth and breadth of our familiarity with
all these communities and the neighborhoods that comprise
them.

Why did you join to become The Bohman Hartung Group
and where did this business relationship start?

Jack Bohman: Sally and I had been keeping our eye out for a
few years looking for a partner to join us to round out our
business and help us expand our coverage. Gibson Sotheby’s
International Realty thought so highly of Joe that they hired him
to onboard and mentor our new agents and we were well aware of
that. When we approached Joe and shared our short and
long-term goals he jumped at the opportunity. We are thrilled that
he did.
Joe Hartung: I had been looking to expand my business into a team
atmosphere for a year or so. When the idea of partnering with Jack
& Sally was suggested I knew we’d be great
together.

You’ve had a lot to celebrate, have there been any
moments you are especially proud of?

Jack Bohman: Professionally I’m proud that we were able to
help over two dozen clients with their real estate needs.
Not every buyer or seller is the same, and we take a bespoke
approach to each client. We have all traveled this year and the
team approach has kept the business running seamlessly.

What do you love most about your roles as real estate
advisors?

Jack Bohman: I come from a long line of stubborn and
independent-thinking Scots. Advocating for our clients,
whether buyers or sellers, is the most rewarding part of our
jobs. Trust is everything in our business and I believe our clients
can readily tell from the outset that we have their best interests
at heart. There are always a few tough moments in every transaction
and I like to think we have the seasoning and composure to sail
through any squalls that rise over the horizon. There is nothing
more rewarding than running into a client years later and hearing
how thrilled they continue to be with our
time together.

What are some of your favorite local hobbies, activities,
or organizations that you participate in?

Jack Bohman: Besides raising our children, we all do our best to
give back to the community. I served on the Chatham Anglers board for 11
seasons, and we hosted Cape Cod League Baseball
League
players. I have also served on the town of Chatham
Economic Development Committee
. My passion is golf and I
continue to compete regionally in tournaments. Sally loves tennis
and paddle tennis and serves on the First Night
Committee

Joe works to support his travel habits.  He and his wife
Bonnie love introducing new cultures to their two young daughters.
Seasonally, the “home office” is on their pontoon boat
in Town Cove in Orleans. So many of our clients move here to be
close to water and we are no exception. Any day on the water
is a good day! Joe served the Orleans Chamber of Commerce
as a director for nine years. He has been elected to the
Town
of Orleans Board of Health
for the past 10 years and is
currently the chair.

What do you love most about where you live and work? Any
favorite spots in the Chatham area or Cape Cod

Jack Bohman: The best way to see and experience Cape Cod is on
the water thus we are all boaters. All of us love Pleasant Bay, the
Outer Beach, and Nantucket Sound and if the weather is nice on any
given Sunday, the odds are one or all of us will be out on the Bay
with family and friends.
There is a wonderful seasonality to life on Cape Cod and we embrace
all four seasons. Winters can be long, but they prove a great
opportunity to recharge one’s batteries, reset your goals and
plan of attack for the year, or take a trip or two. The downtime is
wonderful because once the late spring arrives, there is little
let-up in our schedules. We are blessed to have a great mix of
year-round and summer friends.
Joe Hartung: The Outer Beach, whether driving south from the Nauset
parking lot or boating to the Spit, on the water and sand is where
I want to be. The off-season, despite the weather, is just as
wonderful as Summer. I love nothing more than being a part of a
small town. Anywhere you go in town, you recognize your friends and
neighbors. That goes right back to what and why we sell real
estate.  We’re sharing our love of Cape Cod with
everyone we come across.

What are three sources of joy in your
week?

Jack Bohman: The life of a realtor can be kind of like a lone
wolf at times, but with the three of us, there is a lot of
support, camaraderie, and joy to be working as teammates for a
common goal. We are also blessed that Gibson Sotheby’s
International Realty has great owners setting the tone,
phenomenal staff supporting our every effort, and a highly
respected team of agents throughout all our offices. We really
couldn’t be with a better organization.
Joe Hartung: In season, my biggest joy is spending time on the
water with my family.  No matter the weather, driving past
Pleasant Bay on Route 28 always puts a smile on my face. High tide,
low tide, stormy or calm, the view never gets old.
