Debi
Benoit is an icon of the Wellesley real estate market. Read on
to discover how she got her start in the industry, and what she
loves most about the MetroWest community.
What did you do before real estate and how did
you get started in the business?
I was in the interior design field when I moved to
Wellesley, 34 years ago. After a very negative experience with an
agent who did not do their job well, I knew I could do so much
better – so I did! The other draw about being in real estate
was that I could make my own schedule. I was able to attend all my
daughters’ games and be there for her at all her sporting
events. I am so happy I had the confidence and courage to change my
career.
What is something your clients find comfort in
that makes them turn to you for their real estate
needs?
Confidentiality. Not everyone sells their house
for happy reasons. I always act with discretion, keeping my
clients’ decisions and personal details confidential.
Protecting my clients is my top priority and they know
that.
What are some of your favorite local hobbies,
activities or organizations that you participate in?
Real estate, that’s what I do!
What do you love most about where you live and
work?
Wellesley is a uniquely exceptional and welcoming
community. I feel so fortunate to have lived here for 34 years. In
fact, many children who grow up here return to raise their
own families here as adults. I work with many families of this
generation and the top rated school system is one of the biggest
draws for them to come back and call Wellesley their home.
It’s so rewarding to help multiple generations celebrate the
joys of Wellesley.
Favorite spots in Wellesley/MetroWest?
I love the multitude of restaurants available in
the area, as well as the town parks & trails that so many
people enjoy on a daily basis. The amenities of MetroWest are
unmatched.
What are three sources of joy in your
week?
Connecting with my clients, and enjoying the top
tier support of Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty’s
Wellesley office and management. No one is better at taking care of
their agents. My favorite joy is sharing Sunday night Facetime
calls with my grandchildren!
