Laura Palumbo-Hanson, a top-producing real
estate associate with Gibson Sotheby’s
International Realty in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has
been appointed the 2021 Vice Chair of the
Greater Boston Association of REALTORS (GBAR)
Professional Standards Committee.
As a GBAR committee leader, Palumbo-Hanson is responsible for
ensuring that the committee meets its programming goals and
business initiatives as set forth in the associations strategic
plan. Specifically, she will help administer the activities of the
Professional Standards Committee, facilitate discussion at
committee meetings, and provide regular reports and present
committee action items to the GBAR Board of Directors.
Responsibilities of the Professional Standards Committee
includeimpaneling ethics and arbitration hearings to provide fair,
ethical, and consistent decisions in transactional matters and
implementing and assessing performance of the mediation and
ombudsman programs to promote timely processing of cases.

A REALTOR since 1985, Palumbo-Hansoncurrently serves on the GBAR
Professional Standards Committee and the Board of Mediators.In
2020, she achieved Emeritus status with the National Association of
REALTORS and Life Member status with the Greater
Boston Associations of REALTORS. To achieve Emeritus status, one
must have held membership in the REALTOR organization for a minimum
of 30 years, including continuous membership in good standing with
the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS (GBAR) for no less than
10 years, and have achieved at least 10 years of volunteer service
to GBAR.
Previously, Palumbo-Hanson was appointed the 2018 Chairperson of
the GBAR Grievance and Ethics Committee. She has earned and
maintained numerous real estate designations including Certified
Residential Specialist (CRS), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR)
and Credited Buyer Representative (CBR).
The Greater Boston Association of REALTORS is one of five real
estate specialty divisions of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board.
The GBAR membership currently totals more than 10,000 residential
real estate agents and brokers working in over 950 offices
throughout Metropolitan Boston and Eastern Massachusetts. A local
chapter of the Massachusetts and National Associations of REALTOR ,
GBAR is the largest local REALTOR association in New England.
