Flanagan.
Before I joined real estate, I spent a decade running my jewelry
design studio, Pieces of a Girl. The jewelry was designed by me and
then produced here in New England by my small but dedicated team.
It was a fun and fascinating business that took me to trade shows
and hundreds of wonderful galleries and boutiques across the
country. After closing Pieces of a Girl, I spent some time
exploring what truly interested me and ultimately started in real
estate at Hammond and joined Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty
four years ago.
Do you work a niche or have a speciality that you focus
on in your market?
Though I wouldn’t say I have a niche, I have built a business
that I affectionately refer to as my “Jerry Maguire” portfolio.
Connection and meaning are what get me out of bed in the morning,
so over the years I’ve learned that clients need to be a great fit
in order for the experience to feel good for them AND for me.
Sometimes that means accepting fewer clients overall. Honoring this
has made me a stronger, happier agent and my clients appreciate our
relationship.
What is one thing your clients find comfort in that make
them turn to you for their real estate needs?
I lead with empathy. My clients have shared that they feel how
much I care and how comforting that is during the often stressful
process of buying and selling a home.
What do you love about the markets you serve? What about
the lifestyle excites you most?
I moved from Belmont to Worcester unexpectedly three years ago
and I love it here! Worcester is a booming market with a fantastic
arts scene, fabulous restaurants, pubs, and cafes everywhere you
turn, plus a gorgeous retail landscape comprised of independently
owned shops. There’s so much growth happening right now. It’s an
exciting place to be on all the levels! As an active person, I
spend any free time I have hiking the hundreds of miles of trails
in Worcester, Paxton, Holden, and Princeton. You can’t beat the
green space out here!
Think about the last time a client gave you a
compliment. What sets you apart from the rest? Are you a skilled
negotiator? Do you keep your clients updated on market conditions?
Do you go all out with marketing? Do you have some staging
expertise and give your clients tips?
I was incredibly grateful for this generous recent testimonial,
perhaps most of all because my client felt supported in many ways.
That makes me happy!
“I’ve worked with Lizzy twice on home closings and have been
pleased and impressed both times. She knows the area and the
industry well, steered me towards finding the right property, and
helped me write the very competitive offer I needed to beat out
innumerable other offers. She has a special knack for being tactful, frank, and honest all
at the same time. We have had many conversations about everything
from tight budgets and how renovations will impact the bottom line,
to navigating the delicacies of renegotiating a sales price after
the inspection is complete. Lizzy also provided great
recommendations for home inspectors and closing lawyers.I would not hesitate to recommend her services to friends – and
I have already…with her help, they closed on their new home too.
Lizzy possesses a natural balance of friendliness and
professionalism that makes her easy and fun to work with. A total
pleasure!”
Describe your perfect day off.
My perfect day off would include a hike with dogs and a dear
friend or two. Maybe some canoeing![:]
