For centuries, people have cultivated gardens as a way of
spending time outdoors and enjoying natures beauty. But not all
gardens are visible to the public eye, or always open to the
public.

Since 1999, residents across Hull have taken pleasure in
creating beautiful gardens that are shrouded in a little mystery
all of which you can actually visit this Sunday. As you explore
some of Hulls most enchanting verdant spaces, world-class artists
are perched in every garden, painting and enjoying the bay breezes.
The gardens run the gamut from magnificent blooms overlooking the
ocean to peaceful gardens that spring from the gardeners passion
and creativity.

Front yard gardens often take center stage, welcoming guests
with bursts of color or drawing the eyes of passersby, says

Carolyn Corrow
, a Hull resident and agent at Gibson Sothebys
International Realty. Those kinds of gardens have their place, but
it is not every day we have the opportunity to see the private
oases of local residents. This Sunday, we invite fellow gardeners
and the horticulturally curious to peep behind the scenes of some
of the regions most unique and beautiful landscapes, and inhale the
medley of floral aromas as they go.

Unlike the major green spacesand park heavyweights of the city
of Boston, the Hull Secret Garden Tour offers a glimpse at the
hidden gems on this beautiful seaside peninsula whether they are
tucked in the shadow of a charming cottage or growing quietly
behind a bustling street. Now isnt that a breath of fresh air?

The historic Paragon
Carousel
originated the Hull Secret Garden Tour over twenty
years ago. At each of the homes, garden owners or volunteers will
greet visitors and help answer questions. The tour is designed so
that you may start anywhere in town and meander through the gardens
at your own pace.

This Sunday, June 23, pick up your map of the secret garden
locations in front of the Paragon Carousel at 205 Nantasket Avenue,
Hull, Massachusetts.
