The recent influx of young professionals to Atlanta has brought
new fiery life to a city already ablaze with innovation. According
to the
Atlanta Journal of Commerce
, groups such as
Technology Association of Georgia
, Metro Atlanta Chamber of
Commerce
, and
United Ways Young Professional Leaders
exemplify the strong
organizational ability of Atlantas next generation of great
leaders. Along with tools to foster professional growth, Atlanta
provides an ideal work-play balance, at the crux of all young
professionals career wish-lists.

Just this month, Forbes recognized Atlanta as one of the 25

best cities for young professionals
in 2017. Nearby on the list
is our very own city of Boston. Both cities boast similar
statistics of projected annual job growth and population aged 20 to
29. These metrics are central to Forbes calculation, with listed
cities scoring highest in categories of networking opportunities
and social outlook. Recent graduations find these factors most
important when considering where to move or stick around, as both
Atlanta and Boston offer an impressive number of colleges and
universities.

Another component of Atlantas draw is its indisputable
centrality to American business. Atlanta is home to an impressive
22 of Fortune 1000 companies, with that number expected to increase
over the next decade. Housing some of Americas largest
corporations, such as The Coca-Cola Company, UPS, Delta Air Lines,
and The Home Depot, Atlanta is unparalleled in its commercial
strength, apparent in its recognition as one of the top 10 sites on
the selection list for corporate headquarters. As Boston becomes
increasingly known as a corporate hub, with
General Electric breaking ground
on its new headquarters in the
Seaport District, its industry leaders look to model Atlantas
success.

Perhaps the most transcending feature of Bostonians and Georgia
residents is a love of sports. Georgia is known for its high
investment in sports facilities, with The Atlanta Sports
Connection
just recently
announcing plans for a massive 200-acre sports complex
,
expected to yield a $200 million economic impact and bring 2,000
new jobs to the area. Though Falcons and Patriots may clash on the
field, their dedicated fans share an intense pride in two of the
nations greatest cities.
