Of course there is always white. And
if you are trying to sell a condo or single family that gets very
little light, white on white trim is always a safe bet. But if
thats not the case, here are a few very safe, sophisticated, tried
and true colors that go with all styles & and room
sizes.
Benjamin Moore:
- November Rain/2142-60: A neutral
with a slight gray-green tone. A little on the cool side and looks
great against both blues and browns as well.
- Gray Cashmere/ 2138-60: A more
definite but very pale blue hue. A Great choice for rooms without a
lot of light.
- Abalone/2108-60: Wonderful and
sophisticated neutral which comes off as a mixture of gray and
mocha. Looks great in room with warm brown tones as well as red
(often hard to match).
- Silver Fox/2108-50: The darker
version of Abalone, it great in bedrooms with lots of light and
powder rooms where you would like some richness in color.
- Old Prairie/2143-50: A more
sophisticated alternative to beige.
Although Ben Moore is shown. Many
stores such as Sherwin Williams will mix you a Ben Moore color if
you provide them the color name/number.
Helpful Hints on DIY
Painters;
Painting a small room like a
bathroom with one of these colors? Painting the walls AND ceilings
the same color, will make the room feel bigger and the look is
awesome. Best yet, no having to cut-in the ceilings. Looks
Especially good if there are soffits or pitched ceilings (like
under a staircase or eves), as all of the ceiling lines disappear.
