For all of you bookworms and writers,
or anyone looking to relish in the world of books and authors for a
weekend, Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October
24th should have the 2015 Boston Book Festival penciled
into your calendar.
Friday kicks off the festival with keynote speaker, Margaret
Atwood and then Saturday is filled with speakers, sessions, and
readings that anyone can enjoy. There are multiple sessions for
writers, including Writer Idol where attendees can bring their
personal unpublished manuscripts and get feedback and suggestions
from three literary agent judges. There are also sessions for
fictional writing and even for grabbing the attention of an online
audience. If you have kids with you, there is an array of events
for them to attend, including story time with authors from stories
such as Peter Rabbit, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, and
Stellaluna. Kids can also make their own puppet with Dr.
Doohickey or see a photography exhibit done through a
kids-eye-view. You can even get your music fix in with tons of
performances by local artists such as Kate Diaz, RickExpress,
Mar-Co, Kyle Thornton & the Company, and Fatima.
Just a few of the astonishing authors who will be speaking
throughout the day on Saturday, are Louis Sachar, Libba Bray, Bryan
Doerries, Heidi Julavit, Stephen Kurkjian, and Charlotte Gordon.
So, whether youre interested in memoirs, history, poems, or even
sports, there is something for you to enjoy at the 2015 Boston Book
Festival.
