322 Residential Units are coming to
The Fenway

In yet another announcement about future projects
slated for Boston, the latest comes to us from The Fenway area
where an 18-story tower known as the Viridian is soon to be built.
This project is not the first new initiative to come to The Fenway
either. Most recently we reported that only 0.1 miles away from
Fenway Park there is set to be another 18-story building with
240 apartment units
and 7,050 square feet of additional retail
and restaurant space to be be erected.

Now, in terms of the Viridian, located at 1282
Boylston Street, the building itself will contain a massive 348,235
square feet of interior space. An additional 322 residential units
will come to the area here at this address. The Boston
Redevelopment Authority also acknowledges that 15,000 square feet
will be dedicated to retail space on the ground floor, with 295
parking spaces also to be added. What currently is an old McDonalds
parking lot, this project originally was destined to carry 100,000
square feet of commercial space as well, although now that this
idea has been scrapped, so too have the notion for having
condominiums, as the building will now likely be solely for rental
units; sources have shared.

As a whole this is yet another step in the right direction.
Additional living spaces in the Hub is a dire need given how much
demand there is for property in Boston amongst the populace.
Further development not only increases the quality of homes we have
available, but also provides jobs and helps further boost the
economy in our local markets. Once again, we look forward to
hearing more about these plans as things only continue to
progress!
