public ice skating rink at Rowes Wharf
Have you ever been past the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy
Greenway and ventured over to the spectacular dome that is the
iconic rotunda of Rowes Wharf? Well, it comes to be known that this
area of the Boston Waterfront,
usually donned by a massive American flag, will now have a new
attraction to further its beauty. A large outdoor ice skating rink
of 37×80 feet is set to be installed at this location, home of the
Boston Harbor Hotel, which will be able to hold up to twenty
skaters at any time.
Equity Office is the firm behind this wonderful
initiative, something that will provide even further justification
for visitors and locals alike to continue to visit the spectacular
Boston Waterfront
during the winter season. As was evidenced by the incredibly
popular free public skating that
we have reported Fenway Park has put on for the public, skating
is an attraction that is very enticing to people of all ages in the
region looking to keep active this winter and spend an enjoyable
time with family, friends, or even on a romantic date.
John Conley, the Senior Vice President of Equity Office just
highlighted his plans in advance of the Downtown Waterfront
Municipal Harbor Planning Advisory Committee. Mr. Conley was asked
by the panel to comment on this vision and thus proceeded to state
that, Its something that will keep the activity coming down here,
and we will keep it open through February. So while Frog Pond in
the Boston Common is a lovely place to skate, this winter season do
make sure to come to Rowes Wharf to experience a new, unique, and
picturesque way to enjoy skating right on the Boston
Waterfront.
