$1,000/month for 60 square feet
A new co-working space is set to open quite soon in
Bostons Downtown Crossing.
This November, a significant 2,750 square feet of commercial space
across from the Old City Hall at 44 School Street will provide
start-ups and independent professionals the opportunity to lease
some of the citys best vacant office space in a truly superb
location.
This is not the first news covering the revitalization
of Downtown Crossing.
Not long ago we reported the latest on the $616 Million Millennium
Tower to be built here at the former Filenes site. Now, the
addition of these co-working spaces will bring more businesses,
personnel, and increased hope for a bright future to a location of
the Hub that is very much in need of refreshing energy.
The Boston-based company known as Black House & Co.
are the ones behind this endeavor that will see rents starting at
roughly $1,000/month for 60 square feet of space for a solo
practitioner. For spaces to be occupied by up to six people, a
larger 150 square feet will be available for $2,000/month. The
firms Founder, Maria Amparo Gonzalez, came forward to comment on
this initiative by saying, Our target tenants are professionals
such as consultants and lawyers, but we will also cater to
start-ups.
The benefit to this form of working space is that it will
provide individuals a unique sense of flexibility for their
business. This alternative has been catching on as of late, with
more similar projects occurring throughout Greater Boston. Just in
July, a 15,000 square foot center known as NGIN Workplace opened at
210 Broadway in Cambridges Kendall
Square. This magnificent facility offers spaces starting at
$400/month. Some of the other benefits with this movement in
commercial spaces is
that there is always an on-call secretary, IT support, and various
essential business services provided to the tenant.
