Recent College Graduates
As if it were not obvious enough, roughly one third of
the population of the city of Boston is inhabited by college
students. However, what about once the diploma is in hand and
embarking on ones next life journey comes into play? Well, as it
turns out, staying, living and working in Boston seems to be one of
the best options for college graduates, this according to Rent.com
and Forbes.
This recent report studied information from the Census Bureau,
Rent.coms database as well as data from the Bureau of Labor
Statistics. What was determined were the top twenty-five markets
with the most rental listings. After acquiring these destinations
found in cities nationwide, they were then compared via the mean
annual incomes of individuals, the median price for a one-bedroom
apartment and finally, the unemployment rate.
Last March, Rent.com actually ranked Boston as the #1 city for
recent college graduates, however this year they have decided to
release the Top 10 but in no particular order. So where are recent
college grads most likely to find housing, work and obtain a
reasonable paycheck? Here they are below:

Median price for a one-bedroom apartment: $1,590
Unemployment rate: 5.9%
Washington, D.C.
Mean annual income: $62,900
Median price for a one-bedroom apartment: $1,600
Unemployment rate: 5.2%
Seattle, Wash.
Mean annual income: $54,800
Median price for a one-bedroom apartment: $1,300
Unemployment rate: 6.7%
Atlanta, Ga.
