Boston Charity Event: Super Hunger Brunch for the Greater Boston Food Bank

Greater Boston Food Bank: Hunger Brunch

From Saturday, January 28th through Sunday, January 29th of 2012
there will be the Super Hunger Brunch in Boston which
will benefit The Greater Boston Food Bank! This is an
event that takes place each January over the last two decades to
help fight against the hunger struggle that so many around us are
up against. For example, in eastern Massachusetts a third of all
families admit their children are not getting ample amounts of
healthy food and nutrition because of the horrible truth that they
are unable to afford it.

The corporations that have generously donated their goods and
resources to this cause are Karlssons Gold, Pete & Gerrys Heirloom
Eggs, and Garelick Farms. The following chefs; Jody Adams of Rialto
and Trade, Gordon Hamersley of Hamersleys Bistro, Tony Maws of
Craigie on Main, Ming Tsai of Blue Ginger, and finally, Brooke
Vosika of the Four Season Hotel Boston and the Bristol Lounge will
also be donating their time and energy by working with products
from the three corporations mentioned above and will construct
these delicious brunch delicacies for all of those involved.

There will be 20 restaurants participating over the two days.
The shape that this fundraising event will take will be divided
into a format of three price ranges; $25, $35 and $50. Each of the
20 restaurants scattered throughout the city have been allocated to
just one of these price categories to offer only a brunch to
participants who buy a brunch gift certificate valued at one of the
same three price levels. For each of the two days there will be
different restaurants representing just one the price ranges of
$25, $35, and $50.

Over the years there has been a total of around $181,000 raised
during this occasion which has totalled roughly 456,000 meals to
those who are in a dire struggle. This is sure to be a wonderful
way to enjoy a weekend brunch and know that all proceeds for the
event will go to those who truly need a meal more than most. We
hope that this next event is the most successful to date!
