We are proud to support the first ever Downey Fall Festival and
Creepy Crawl Kid Parade that will be taking place on Sunday,
October 23rd! The event looks to sponsor the Downey Elementary
School located in Westwood for
their strides to improve fantastic enrichment programs such as the
Revolutionary Encampment, the Museum of Science Electromagnetism
and the River Classroom Squannoacook, among others.
This fundraiser will include countless activities for friends,
families and especially children. Some of these attractions include
haunted house, various games, bouncing houses, barn babies, a bake
sale, themed rides and lovely music. What this event sees is the
potential in our youth and the importance we must place on
uplifting programs as such for them. The hope is to have at least
400 attendees with the majority coming from the Westwood,
Norwood and
Dedham areas,
although all are welcome of course!
The ways in which money will be raised will come primarily
through the silent auction whose items will come from the
generosity of the public, some of which will be raffled off to the
luckiest of spectators. There is no strict boundary as to what can
be auctioned, as long as its appropriateness and ability to raise
money for a better cause are understood. Monetary donations are
also greatly appreciated and are tax deducted through the acquired
tax identification number (45-2476131) of the event. In addition,
it must be known that the key for this project is the sense of an
effort towards giving and the fulfillment it brings someone,
therefore the dollar amount, be it big or small, has no meaning in
the end.
If you, your company or your party of close acquaintances
chooses to get involved in this deserving cause for children you
will be greatly recognized in Westwoods
local paper, at the day of the actual event, all school
newsletters, the Westwood Press and the Westwood Patch. Donations

The Parade will commence at noon and run until 1:00pm, while the
Festival will thereafter continue on from 1:00pm until 4:00pm.
